‘The Kashmir Files’ Director Vivek Agnihotri has been Granted ‘Y’ Category Security.

According to government sources, the Central government has granted ‘Y’ category security cover to ‘The Kashmir Files’ director, Mr.  Vivek Agnihotri, with CRPF coverage across India. The film, which focuses on the mass migration of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the 1990s, has sparked debate since its release, with the BJP and Opposition parties taking on each other.

The film “The Kashmir Files” with the backbone on actors like Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar, and others star in the film, was released in theatres on March 11. Vivek Agnihotri directed the film, which is based on the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his support for the recently released film ‘The Kashmir Files’ at a BJP Parliamentary Party meeting on Tuesday, claiming that attempts were being made to discredit it.

The PM has stated that bringing out the truth in the proper manner is always in the best interests of the country. Several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Goa, Haryana, Gujarat, and Uttarakhand, have declared the film tax-free.

The film ‘Kashmir Files,’ directed by Vivek Agnihotri, is about the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990. But, the opposition parties, on the other hand, are criticising the film for presenting half-truths.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav slammed Bharatiya Janata Party leaders for supporting the film ‘The Kashmir Files,’ saying that if ‘The Kashmir Files’ can be made on Kashmir, then ‘Lakhimpur Files’ can be made as well.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel stated that the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ contains half-truths and that not only Hindus but also Buddhists, Muslims, and Sikhs were murdered in Kashmir.
